IEC: Independent Electrical Contractors

Is anyone here a member of the IEC? I'm thinking of joining and would like to hear everyone's opinions about the organization

Re: IEC: Independent Electrical Contractors

They are very active in the counties to my north. I'd love to join, but I'd be having meetings with myself. There's nobody in my area that's a member. I'm not especially interested in spearheading the effort in my area.

Never heard of the IEC, but I know that NECA is a very great organization.

You should probably look them up too

Thumbs down

Re: IEC: Independent Electrical Contractors

NECA does not accept members who are not signatory to the IBEW collective barganing agreement. Also I know of no evidence that suggests that they are a "great" organization. In fact, if you are a non union contractor, they are your biggest enemy.

Then that makes sense Plan 9.

This quote:

...is coming from a very pro union worker.

The IEC on the other hand is to promote independent contractors.

Once again, it all boils down to what you want to be. Union or independent.

Joe, do not take offense to this. I'm just stating facts.
