I guess because the people wanted a hot tub and air conditioning? If they weren't connected to something, they wouldn't work.

Is this a joke or something, because I don't get it.

Re: Hot Tub And AC Breaker

I believe they are connected by a pin through the levers. I am not really an electrical guy though i have helped wire a few houses. so if this seems really vague i am sorry. i would supply a pic but the beaker in question is in colorado and i am in mississippi. mostly i am wanting to know if it is against code because i had an AC guy tell me so.

Are you drinking? I ask, because your question makes no sense whatsoever.

Okay, maybe so. That makes a little more sense. Sounds like some jackleg put the hot tub under the lugs with the outdoor AC unit. Yeah, that would be a violation. I've actually seen hot tub companies wire them up this way. They don't have a clue. Delivery apes with a toolbox.

I was thinking along those lines. Or maybe it was the last homeowner.

Everyone knows when you run out of space and are confused just put everything under main lug. You'll be fine

Re: Hot Tub And AC Breaker

Perhaps the panel is undersized and instead of upgrading to a larger size they installed a quad breaker?

A quad breaker would take up 2 full spaces and have 4 different terminals.
