Help 3 Way Wiring

I have 8 can lights with 3 way switches at each end. I can tell from all the diagrams the #1 is ok. Problem is I can get all lights to come on & off with #1 switch . When I use # 2 only the last can will go off and on. Can anyone help. I have a couple of weeks off so I thought I would redo the family room. I just have the lights to get to work then I can paint. Only 2 days left, then back to work. James

Re: Help 3 Way Wiring

All of your cans need to be wired together in parallel, just like it was a single can. If they aren't then it won't work properly.

Re: Help 3 Way Wiring

I'd say you have some sort of messed up wiring. And if I had to troubleshoot this I would start by checking the light that comes on with switch #2. The best way to understand 3-way switches/ wiring is to remember that at one end of the switch common will be your line side (feed), the other common the load (watts). The two travelers are just that, travelers, never common and no need for connection to neutral.
