I imagine he got the good old waterhose analogy, and now electricity makes perfect sense.

I like the old water hose thing when I try to straighten people about "electricity always takes the easiest path" myth they like so well. I explain about the easiest path for the water is the open end of the hose. Then I ask what will happen if I poke a hole in the hose a little ways back. I ask if they think some water might just come out of that hole too. Most of them seem to get it after that. Something about that old water hose thing that untrained people are able to relate to. You gotta use what works sometimes.

I have to post this here. If you want to see absolute comedy gold, get on you tube and search for Basics of Electricity part 1. It's done like an educational film from the mid eighties but with tongue firmly planted in cheek.
