Most of us wear hats on our heads, not our faces!

Thanks, I love free stuff!

I just ordered a new set of Greenlee pliers from my distributer. I'm looking for alternatives to Klien that are as good or better. They are cheaper and I like to be different! I was taught to always use Klein but recently have had problems with their stuff.

I look at the pliers that are labelled Klein and the house brands from Canadian Tire, or Sears, or whathaveyou.. They look identicle, but Klein is twice the price.

I'm sure they all come out of the same stamp in China now.

Also, when have you ever seen Klein on sale?

I have been using the craftsman linemans pliers! So far they have been pretty darn good. I also use the craftsman wire strippers and 10-in-1 screwdriver. Both of these are exactly like the klein brand. Best part is blow them up - Take them back and get new ones FREE try that with klein!

Re: Free Greenlee Hat

Klein tools are made in the US, I used to work right behind one their manufacturing plants in Skokie, and now they have several manufacturing plants around the Chicago suburbs. They make their own tools and they are top quality, I wouldn't be surprised if they made them for other companies. Klein does warranty their tools, I've had some replaced without any problems (they don't really break much unless you misuse them).

I did work in a plant in Wood Dale, that manufactured tools for Armstrong, Snap On, Proto and Craftsman.

Re: Free Greenlee Hat

Has anyone noticed the Klein screw drivers just dont hold up like they used to?? I dropped my new phillips head a while back and the tip broke off. The flat heads just bend easier and wear faster??? Or is it just me ??..The Electrical supply I bought the phillips head from gave me a hard time about replaceing it because it had some nicks on the handle.. He said they wont get credit for it because they(klein) will say I hit it with a hammer..I had to give the guy a talkin to,, kinda like what the are you kidding me I spend $500k a year in this overpriced hole and you wont replace a $12 screwdriver (LOUDLY) with a store full of people.......................they replaced it

I like my Craftsman/Mastercraft stuff.. Defective models are replaced with no questions asked at any Sears/Canadian Tire, and they are cheap enough that if you lose one, that you don't blow your profit replacing one.

Although I know of no tradesmen that use multi-tip screw drivers.. I always thought those were for divorced housewives who leave them in the kitchen junk drawer for when they need to call someone over to help them hang blinds

Who likes Knipex stuff. I LOVE them!
I don't care for the design of their linemans but everything they make is TOP quality. They are made in Germany, what do you expect.

How is "blowing them up" part of the Sears quality problem. If you're dumb enough to "blow up" a tool then it should be your dumb ass that replaces it. Instead of trying to exploit another one of our american made manufacturers.

It's no wonder Klein doesn't have the gaurantee they used too.

Nice dog!

I got my hat a few weeks ago.

I like that it's black to hide the dirt that will inevitably end up on it.

How long ago did you order the hat, I ordered my hat on 02-08-2007 and just got it and I'm only an hour away. Let me guess everyone else got the hat already, they must take care of the important people first.
