Fluke 87 And Fluke 83 Blicking

I have a fluke 87 and fluke 83 meter that i put away about six months ago. I got them today out the box....turn them on and they are both blicking (display window) . I replace the battery and check the 2 fuse. the fuse read ok. Both meter was work before i put them away? is there a reset button on them?

Mine only blink when I'm trying to measure volts on the ohms setting and vice versa. I have a T5, 73, and an 85, and that's about all I know about blinking. Fluke technical support is great, however. Might suggest you ring them up on Monday.

Guess what? I got some new battery......from the store! Both meter are working now ! AT first the fluke 87 meter was blinking and the fluke 83 did not come on. I found one battery in a old box and put it in the Fluke 87 and still blinking. the old battery from the fluke 87 i put in the fluke 83( now this meter start to blink). But still this puzzle me.....the meter went in some type of lock out my other fluke meter never did this before!!! But at the end of the day....i got what i want .....a working meter !!!!

Fluke 73, that's a dinosaur, you might be giving away your age. The 73 was my first digital meter, still have it and still working fine. I dropped it in an elevator pit back in the 80's, it was soaked and not working, I sent it out to Fluke, came back working, no charge, great meter great company.

I nearly disected a clock the other day because I put in a battery and still no worky. Well the thing was sealed shut so I had no choice but to try a different battery and it works fine.
