Fire Alarm Code

I just ordered the NFPA72 National Fire Alarm Code Book 2002 Edition for an examination prep course I hope to start this Tuesday.

What am I going to need to know about Fire Alarm Codes for the exam?

Re: Fire Alarm Code

Is NJ still using NFPA 72-2002 or the 2007 edition?

Re: Fire Alarm Code

Well now there's a great question. I have to assume - and I sure as hell hope - that we're still using the 2002 since that is what's listed on 2 exam prep courses websites that I've looked at.

NEC 2008
NFPA 72 - 2002
NJ Electrical Reference...

Those are the three commonly listed and used in the NJ prep courses.

Re: Fire Alarm Code

There is a cd-rom that i used to study for the NJ fire alarm portion of the test, sorry i cant find the name or cd (nicet?) but you can probably find it on mike holts forum. The fire alarm portion and the nj law was the easiest portions of the test. 25 questions each if I remember correctly. Just find these study guides and you will have no problems. I still have have my fire alarm book highlighted and your welcome to borrow it, pm me if interested. Im located near sandy hook.
