Electrical Estimating Software
I am going to purchase the electrical estimating software. Can you guys tell me which one you would buy or have worked with directly? Software from these companies: Vision Info, McCormick Systems, ConEst Intellibid, Maxwell Systems, and any other software company. Any info will be appreciated.

Re: Electrical Estimating Software
I have worked with Estimation, Conest Intellibid and Accubid. In my experience, Accubid Pro is hands down the best software. It is has very intuitive feel, especially if your proficient in Excel. It is an Excel based program and we have found it to be very flexible. In 2007 we estimated over $150 million with Accubid and won About $25million. Accubid also links well with MS project and D&C Spectrum accounting software.

Re: Electrical Estimating Software
I have used Accubid products for the last 10 years and have no complaints, but I think that you will find that most people swear by what they learned on.
I will tell you though, Accubid has the best support of any product (software, hardware, appliances, etc, etc.) that I have owned or been involved with. |

Re: Electrical Estimating Software
A lot of what a person needs in an estimating program is based on what type of work they do.
I've been doing some new homes, remodels and Lt. comm. I had been using The National Electrical Estimator($33 @ amazon)....but it seemed to be lacking something ~ what I needed it do! So I made my own using Excel97 I update pricing as needed (daily if need be...updated pricing info is PARAMOUNT)...make assemblies "on the fly"...generate a "shopping list"..track changes, payments(progress based)...and it all merges into my contract complete with customer's address info, block/lot, etc. Here are a few shots of it: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() These shots are almost a year old - most of the pricing data is OUT OF DATE...and I have also cleaned up the #DIV/0! nonsense
