Re: Electrical Contracton

I have National Estimator and have never used it. For residential IMO it is worthless. I do not do much new commercial at all anymore. IMO that's all it's good for. And it's a bi*ch to learn to use correctly.

I would be S-O-L (dead, caput, screwed,) without QuickBooks (Pro) and my laptop!!!
I also use their payroll manager for my one employee. Worth every penny of the $300/year fee. I just figured it as overhead into his hourly rate.
I got Customer Manager free with QB. It's real nice to keep lots of extra info on certain customers, such as two and three addresses and many phone numbers.
Don't know if I'd pay the $80 for it alone though. In hindsight, I guess I would now that I have it.

Been using Trade Service (Traser) in conjunction with National Estimator+ experience.
Not sure what your sales volume is or size of customer base, but we have used CYMA Professional Accounting Software for years. Fully integrated with job costing, inventory, payroll , a/p,a/r, gl... Not so easy to start with but extremely detailed reports , difficult to hide/cheat/steal/cover tracks.. if you have office help.
Not cheap though, full suite is @ $5K ??!!

Re: Electrical Contracton

Qb Comtractor Edition Has The Ability To Hold Prices So I Could Count And Type. It Would Add Up All The Materal. Then A Labor Guess. It Would Add This In. Then I Could Describe Work To Be Done And Print Out A Quote/estamate On The Spot. Answer All ? And Be On My Way. Same Could Be Done With Bills. Of Corse I Would Need A Portable Printer. Qbc Also Does All The Qb Goodies Invenry, Costmer Info, Checks, Acounting......... I Was Just Wondering If You Guys Use Any Of This. If Not What. Once Again I Am At Startup Cash Flow Is An Issue But I Will Spend A Buck To Ease The Stress Of Time You Know
