Electric Kickspace Heater

Anybody know of an electric kickspace heater that has a remote control? I have a pretty rough retrofit, and getting a wall stat is going to be next to impossible (highly finished open concept concrete house). I doubt this particular customer will favor bending over to adjust a unit mounted stat.

The home has hydronic heat, so my other option is to use a strap-on switch on the hydronic loop someplace to turn the heater on when the hydronic is running. This heater is to supliment the hydronic.

The simple on/off would be an X-10 type system. The better way would be with a remote thermostat. Heat-n-glo makes one for use in their gas fireplaces that's a 110V control.

googled this & found an Ouellet 1000 watt OCPU1002BL that says remote included & sold at Northern Tool. I went to their site & in the specs it says remote not included- so if interested I would give them a call. These Ouellets are made in Canada. I have installed the Stelpro heaters from Canada & think they are top notch.............. Mike

I assume they have to make them. There are plenty of window A/C units with remotes so there has to be something for heat too.

I think he's looking for a wireless remote control, I think the one you are referring to is a remote control in that it is located away from the unit but wired, but I'd check it out to be sure.

Westinghouse makes a thermostatic, wireless, ceiling fan control that can be used with a relay to control a heater, maybe a wireless fireplace controller.
