Dusk To Dawn Light
I have a dusk to dawn light that sometimes takes about an hour to "warm up".
I'm thinking that it might be that ballast in which case I will just replace the light. Problem is i can't find a ballast to even get a number off it to see what kind of bulb it might be to rule that out first. Can anyone tell me if my theories are correct that it is either the bulb or the ballast. oh yea i think it is mercury vapor. |

Check the flux capacitor first, they go bad quite often.

Re: Dusk To Dawn Light
You can try a lamp. If that doesn't work, replace the whole fixture. Those 175W mercury vapor dusk-to-dawn fixtures are the same price as a new ballast, and it's way easier to replace the whole fixture.

Re: Dusk To Dawn Light
i figured I would try the lamp first but the problem is I don't know what size ballast is in it and I can't seem to find one it is an older fixture could it be combined with the photo cell maybe? Because I don't want to ruin the bulb/ballast/fixture
