Dsa Inspectors
What do you think of the dsa inspectors here in california? In michigan (where i started) all the city inspectors were X electrician and knew there stuff, and what to look for to see if a job is done right. Now some years later in socal Iam just dealing with dsa inspectors and they inspect everything from electrical to the concrete. I had one real good one, and a couple who in my opinion had no business inspecting electrical. To be nice. Then to top it off you get 3-4 year apprentices who are a little overpriced. To be nice. The combination is a bit scary. ........................go wings!

Re: Dsa Inspectors
Apparently they are not really inspectors but are engineers. It looks like one more crazy thing that California is doing.
Your Boy Arnold is at the helm and who knows where you are going? Here is a sort of a mission statement from the DSA Home page: Who Are We? We are the Division of the State Architect (DSA), a division of the State of California's Department of General Services. We are California's policy leader for building design and construction, we: Provide design and construction oversight for K-12 schools and community colleges. Develop and maintain the accessibility standards and codes employed in public and state leased buildings. Incorporate the office of the independent State Historical Building Safety Board, caretaker of California's State Historical Building Code. Why Join Our Team? We need dedicated professionals who are committed to ensuring that our public schools and facilities are structurally safe, and accessible to persons with disabilities. We strive to make each individual a part of the team, working together toward a common goal. We value a job well done and strive to constantly improve customer services. We treat everyone with fairness, honesty, courtesy, and respect. GO TEAM GO!!

Re: Dsa Inspectors
The mess here in Ca. with all the different agencies and wasteful bureaucracy was started long before Arnold was at the helm, and yea who knows when it will end. The dsa inspectors are not as bad as the oshpod
inspectors on hospitals. As far as your overpriced apprentice electricians, thank the new substandard electrical standards recently put into law by the California DAS/DIR. All I can say for that one is follow the money trail to all of our bought off elected state officials and commitees, including our ex governor who so appropriately signed it into law as he was being run out of office to pay back one of his biggest campaign contributors. Not to mention the bills author, check out where his campaign money came from. The whole thing is a little rattling to me....... |

Re: Dsa Inspectors
Bigjay, I dont mind the new certification program even though your right it was brought into exsistance for the wrong reasons. But between the overpriced apprentices dsa inspectors and construction management companies---it's amazing how bad of a job the three can do together! .........go wings!
