What does this architect mean by....
"all branch wiring to be T.W. 1/4" - 2" #12 600V EX (min)" ??? T.W = wire type? Whats with the 1/4" - 2" ?? |

I'd probably do an RFI on that, but this is a perfect example of sloppy engineering and bad cut and paste. Type TW wire hasn't been used in decades. We use THHN now . They want you to use a minimum of #12 THHN for all the circuits. That's a common spec when they're banning #14. As for that 1/4" - 2" thing, I'd say it's a dimension that accidentally got dropped in the middle of that spec for no good reason. The 600V min insulation rating is fine, because anything you're going to use nowadays is so rated. Again, just a sloppy cut and paste from very old specs.
