Craigslist
Here is a good one... I wonder how he works with no overhead. I would also be willing to bet he will either be gone in a year or he will change his mind about no overhead.

Re: Craigslist
Craigslist is a freakin' joke when it comes to the "skilled trade" forum.
It's all handymen and side job folks. They list about 7-8 of the skilled trades they are good at. Unfortunately "light electrical" it usually one of them. About as bad as the local Pennysaver. Same ads.

Re: Craigslist
Most folks call it "Dregslist". It's a magnet that draws unlicensed contractors and hacks.

Re: Craigslist
I am a novice Handyman and I use dregslist. I am not a contractor nor am I skilled completely in any trade. I do advertise the services which I am capable of providing and do not even want trade work.
The people there are looking for Bargains as in they are really looking for complete fools who are willing to do the work for 1/4 the price the pros would charge. Since I've increased my prices I've had less work to do. FINE. I'm mainly replying to confirm just how right you are about those folks who are hacks claiming they do everything under the sun.

Re: Craigslist
The problem is they try to charge "full price". I was looking for a flooring sub on craigslist. I require all my subs to have gen. liability and workers comp. None had it. They would say they will sign a "waiver". But they wanted to charge the same price as guys that pay their premiums.
