Compressor Wiring


I have a 110 compressor that can be wired to 220 there is a diagram in the compressor that shows how to wire the compressor. The question is I have a 220 outlet and I want to wire it to run the compressor how do I do this Iam going to wire it to a single outlet the 200 breaker is a double pole 50 amp breaker do I need to switch the breaker also the wiring has a black red and white with a little copper wire as the ground.

When you call your electrician, he'll know how to do that when he arrives.

Stick to your day job guy. I sincerely hope no one offers up advice on this. None of us want to be part of you killing yourself or your family because you "want to wire" your compressor. Pay a local electrician, or if you know any trade favors. There is good reason not to help you on this. We're not a bunch of di*ks looking to give you a hard time (well, maybe a little) butat the same time, when someone comes on here and presents a question the way you have it tells us you have no business messing with 220....120 for that matter. Call in a favor....your children are depending on it.
