Can Lights

Quick Question

I live in a modern/standard every day home. I'm going to install 4 can lights in an upstairs "bonus Room". The nearest source of Power is a ceiling fan that is mounted in the middle of the room. I would like to make a junction box, tapping off that wire and run the 4 can lights. How can I determine if I have enough wattage left on that circuit to run those 4 can lights?

Re: Can Lights

A 15-amp circuit breaker can safely carry 1800 watts. A 20-amp circuit breaker can carry 2400 watts.
You'll have to add up everything that is on that circuit. By the sounds of it, you are over your head. Hire it out.
