California, Bathroom Codes Qyestion

In bathroom that has more than one light fixtures. Does one of them has to be fluorescent? Is is true?

California has got some funny rules. The code Nazi's out there have decided that a kitchen or bathroom with more than one fixture must have at least half lighted with fluorescent.

I am not familiar with the residential lighting aspect of Title 24 (energy conservation code). On the commercial side a lighting designer is given only so many watts/sq ft per building occupancy type or given so many watts per task in each area (plus many other mandatory measures/credits for energy efficiancy) to comply with title 24. The more energy efficiant the lighting (ie fluoescent) / the easier it is to comply with the code. Best regards, Kirk

Come October 1, 2005, one fixture in the bath must be fluorescent, but currently they'll credit you the bath fixture if you have fluorescent lighting in the garage or utility/laundry.
