Buzzing From My Can Light Install

6" incandesant. I took off the dimmer, removed each light bulb one at a time. I actually never removed all the light bulbs, at once. We connected into the existing light switch, so in theory the circuit should be clean.

Re: Buzzing From My Can Light Install

Most of the time when i run into this it turns out to be the bulb elements buzzing. I would also check the connections on the back of the socket. Also check for any loose connections in the fixture.

Re: Buzzing From My Can Light Install

Pisses me off, I go in attic, hear nothing, in the room buzzzzz. Atleast i could check connections , instead of pulling can down, from the attic. The guy that made up the lights, rarely ever messes up joints. This seems more like a bad can light.

We are finally going back to this job tomorrow, i will have them check the back of the sockets and joints. Only thing left would be the thermal overload.

You can have Dallas.....I'd love the donuts. There is a dimmer but no noticeable buzzing with other bulbs, only the GE Reveals.

Interesting...

You can always try the old "AFCI Buzzing" trick.

Drop it on its side!

Of course you'll have a pretty nice mess to clean up...

'Cept with bulbs, I prefer to not drop but hurl. They make such a lovely sound!!!

Ever had a Fluorescent "Light Saber" Fight???? Fun and relatively harmless. Although the powder coating tastes a bit harsh!!!!!!

Then the problem lies within the AMOUNT of voltage. I bet it is a bit off. A bit low!

Not uncommon you know.
