Breaker Doesn´t Trip

Hi
20 years single house, orange county, I´m doing some rewiring job, on kitchen remodeling, but, the funny thing is, I can not find the dedicated breaker for kitchen outlets, accidentally with short circuit, dosen´t trip.
the breaker should be high rated?

Re: Breaker Doesn´t Trip

You need a Pro that knows how to unfornicate improper wiring: You most likely have a cross connect between 2 or more breakers that prevents tripping at the rated Amperes...

maybe a device is plugged in a duplex outlet that reconnects the adjacent plug ins.

or some one wired a 120 outlet to the range circuit......

Sadly All wiring in the house/garage would need to checked for safety issues IMHO....

Make sure the insurance is paid in full, and keep anything burnable at the safety deposit box.

Oh, and you legally must tell any potential buyers about this massive defect.

I think your question indicates you are not a licensed electrician. Try the DIY Talk forum.
