Another Kitchen Electrical Question

Kitchen went from this to this today.

See that outlet circled in red? The new layout is going to be almost the same as the original, there will be a peninsula ending right about where that outlet is.

If I run 2 new small appliance outlet circuits, can I still keep that outlet as wired for the required end of peninsula outlet or does it have to be wired as part of the 2 new small appliance circuits? That outlet circled in red is part of another circuit that goes into other parts of the house.

Re: Another Kitchen Electrical Question

Since you are doing a compete remodel it cannot stay. It must be off one of the SA circuits.

Re: Another Kitchen Electrical Question

If that outlet was not connected with other crap in the house, it could stay. Well, in fairness, if it's on with stuff in the dining room or pantry room, it can stay. Other rooms, no. Refer to Speedy's answer in that case. What makes this receptacle non-conforming is the fact that it's on with other rooms/areas.

By the way, that kitchen looks pretty nice in the before pictures. I can hardly wait to see how it turns out when finished. I'm sure it will be fantastic.

Crap, that means I'm probably going to have to open up the floor to take care of that outlet.

The good news so far though is it appears the old microwave, dishwasher and even the disposal were on individual 20amp circuits.

You can always install that box under the toe kick or face up in the floor of the bottom back of the pennensula cabinet and blank plate it. Just an option, if it suits you better.
