220 Direct From Panel

The creation in the first picture (some of you may recall) successfully aided in providing my sander with the 220 needed to run it. Regarding the second picture: which of the scenarios, left or right (or neither), may also provide me with the 220 the sander needs?

But if I'm forced to choose between the lesser of two evils, I'd go with the option on the left.

woo!!! I would hire a professional union electrician, like me to hook that up!!!!

They both will provide 220 as 480 sparky said- if you need to use the 2 single pole breakers, which you should not, pin them together . Also please, please use cable connectors on your little breaker box....................

Thanks Sparky. If you do not mind, I'd like to run the following by you as well...
Once I have the need (and the nad) to try it, I figure these are the steps:
1. Use proper hand tools
2. turn the breaker to 'off'.
3. remove first & second wire, cap or tape them, bend them away from the breaker.
4. Install my black and white in their place, then the ground to the box.
5. turn breaker to 'on'.
6. reverse the steps when finished

The photo was something I found with Google Images. Probably from a blog discussing 'what not to do'.

Is this in reference to the right side of the bottom photo? And, excuse my ignorance, how do I pin them together?

That has actually been fixed since the photo was taken. Thanks for noticing. I need all the help I can get.
