20 & 15 Breakers With 12/3 Awg

Can I connect 20 amps and 15 amps breakers to 12/3 AWG, black and red, using the same common white?
I don't any where in NEC that I can not.

Yes, you certainly may. It is never a violation to use a heavier wire than the circuit's overcurrent protective device. If the leg of the 12-3 that is on the 15 amp breaker will have any 14 gauge connected to it downstream, label that conductor in the breaker panel as such. That will keep someone in the future from scratching their head, thinking, "Hey, what's this #12 wire doing on a 15 amp breaker. I'll fix that and put in a 20". This proposed conductor labeling isn't a code requirement, but a "good idea" often times.

If I am following you correctly you will want the black and red on different legs (phases) if you are sharing the neutral.

My customer overloaded his 15 amps circuit. The 14/2 ran under the crawspace from the main breaker. I want to give him 20 amps on one duplex and keep the remaining receptacles on the original 15 amps.
