Western Canada, Highest Paid ?

I am on Vancouver Island and in the early stages of looking into doing some out of town jobs for a month or so at a time. I am seeking opinions on areas in Western Canada where boarders ( not taper ) are getting the highest rate per ft ? I really don't care how remote just want top rates.

Thanks in advance.

We've been in Fort Mac for several years and presently run a Drywall company. Fort Mac Drywall Contracting. We pay .30 for boarding, .36 for taping & a buck a foot for bead. These are all labor only prices and applies to straight 8' work, extra for screw-ups and high stuff. Accomodations are available and we are always looking for good tradespeople.

Accommodations are the key. that place is outrageously expensive to live in! More than Vancouver.

36 cents a square foot equates to £1.82 a square metre, labour only.

Why would you beat the hell out of your body for those rates. I would be doing a different trade or go back to school before wrecking my knees and back for that chump change.

Re: Western Canada, Highest Paid ?

Im trying to figure out if telling everyone in the world what we charge in my area is a good idea or not.

A) maybe I could find some quality help
or
B) I just invite a few dozen more competitors into my neighborhood to drive prices down.

upon reflection.............

it really sucks here , its cold, rains alot, and the taxes are rediculous

go north young man ...go north

I would actually like to go out to the island to work this winter. Any suggestions where the best jobs would be? Or how much drywall work is available out there?

You need to consider expenses, including cost of living.
How much does a decent 2500 sq.ft. home go for there? In my neighbourhood it's 650,000. I know neighbourhoods where it would be at least 1.5 mil (I'm talking normal homes, nothing too fancy)
