Type X TE/BA

A Buddy of mine has blueprints that specify to use 5/8 Type X TE/BA.
I explain to him that it's just fire code 5/8 rock, tapered edge. No idea what the BA is. Maybe a typo from the architect?
So he believes this is some new special product, and found a supplier that is going to sell it to him for around $20 a sheet. I'm pretty sure he's getting ripped off. Can anyone confirm ?

Re: Type X TE/BA

BA should be square edged, BC is tapered.

Typo, he didn't change the French version.

Ripoff, unless 5/8 type X tapered edge costs $20.
