Re: Time To Install

I would say 2 days at most.

BTW, the ceiling to wall does have to have at least a first coat for fire rating unless the walls are something other than drywall, but this fire coat would take a pro about 10 minutes.

With all the new compounds out there and with what you need to do I'de say a Professional with a helper should get that done in a day.

Just hang? Or hang and finish?
just to hang 12x21=6 4x12
Just to hang 17x10=5 4x10
I would say at the most time to hang the sheets would take is 2 hrs.

Re: Time To Install

Me and my partner could throw up the board pretty fast (probably an hour or so with no fancy cuts to make). But you didn't say if you need it taped??

Why wouldn't you use (6) 4'x12's and (4) 4'x10's using the waste from the rip from the 12's for the rip you need for the 10' pc? Gotta be lean and mean!

Re: Time To Install

In total you are looking at about 8 man hours over two days (using fast setting mud). Worst case, might have to delay sanding to the third day depending on moisture issues (fans do help though)..
