Tile On GP Mold And Moisture Resistant Sheetrock

The HO was going to paint the bathroom I am doing. Now after we installed the sheetrock he wants tile. had I known this, I would had installed Durock on the bottom half of the walls. The sheetrock that I installed is GP Mold and Moisture resistant drywall. This stuff seems to have fiberglass in it. Can I install the tiles to this product?

As long as it is not part of the shower walls or tub surround.

It is not part of the shower surround. This a plastic shell. They want it tiled up to the shower stall. If it included the shower, I would most definitely use Durock.
Thanks for the 411
