Sheetrock Tools Sent Me Free Tools From Contractor Talk!

I just got back to my office when I had a package from UPS marked "Manager Evergreen Drywall & Finish,LLC"

It was from the USG Corporation, so initially I thought it was just promotional, or something like that. But when I opened it up, it had a letter and another package.

If you remember a few weeks back I started a thread about SHEETROCK TOOLS and how thier new line was really amazing. Well the letter stated..

"Dear Evergreen Drywall & Finish,

Thank you for your recent praise of SHEETROCK tools on the Contractor Talk online forum. We are humbled by your compliments and appreciate your support.

SHEETROCK Tools has one goal- provide installers with the worlds finest drywall tools. We've worked hard over several years to research, design and build tools of superior durability, fit and value. In addition to our knives and pans, we are preparing to release several new tools this year that will continue our tradition of providing the best tools in the business.

As a thank you, I have enclosed two of our newest products for you. A SHEETROCK Professional jab saw(keyhole saw), and a SHEETROCK Magnetic Mud pan Grip. I trust you will find them to your standards.

Thanks again for your support!!"

I think that was a great thing to go out of thier way to thank a customer for thier appreciation, and I know they will be getting ALOT more business from me. THANK YOU SHEETROCK!!

So if you have a really good experience with a supplier, specific tool, or certain supply..WRITE YOUR THOUGHTS!! They are watching US!

And as always..CONTRACTOR TALK KICKS A*S!!

Now everyone will start threads in hopes of getting free stuff.

I need some turf builder for my lawn, maybe I can start a thread on Scotts turf builder?

On a serious note, that is cool that they care enough to check the web for feedback about their company.(send mud pan please)

Re: Sheetrock Tools Sent Me Free Tools From Contractor Talk!

The free tools were great

But I think just the thought and time that went into reading my post and writing me the thank you letter was the best. You don't see that too much anymore, especially with multi-billion dollar companies.

I have been buying USG mud for years now, but now I will be purchasing thier SHEETROCK tools as well.

PS: The Magnetic Mud Pan Grip..REALLY feels good, I think it will be a MUST for any finisher that has thier pan with them for 8-10 hours a day, I know my guys will be buying them. Will not know about the keyhole saw for a lil while, but I am sure it will be tough & durable.

Isn't anyone going to start a promotion of the merits of their favorite "GentleMens Clubs"?

Imagine what kind of freebies might be available. Maybe some brass pole polish? Or, could it be something else?

It's my second article in JLC. I don't like to toot my own horn, so I don't really mention it too much.

If you don't get the magazine (everyone should), you can download the article from the JLC website here:

Well Greg,

Nice to see another drywall junkie that knows what he is doing!!

I gotta GC down here in MD called CSG Commercial Builders, and i've been doing all thier developments for the last 4 years, projects ranging from 28,000sqft to 77,500sqft.

They are trying to get me to travel to West Deptford,NJ to do a "Jaycee Lifestyle Furniture". It is about 70,000sqft and is gonna be a Corporate Office/Showroom/Warehouse.

I don't know how far you are from there but if I do take it, we should definetly hook up & have a chat.

Thanks, Mike.

I guess this is part of the reason I get so PO'd when I read some of the posts here from "alleged" professionals. This is serious business that some people take way, way too lightly.
