Semi-taboo Question - Please Help

It seems like no oneon the site likes questions regarding prices - and I partially understand it. I am a flooring contractor in Omaha and am starting to contract out a few basements here and there. I have priced out and understand the market for everything except drywall prices.

I paid 78 cents a foot two years ago for my new own basement. Material, hanging, finishing.

For new construction, in a basement, to do walls and ceilings- nothing extra or complicted - curves, trays, ect.. what is a price I can expect to pay for hanging and finishing per foot.

This is in Omaha and Council Bluffs and if you can help I would appreciaite it.

Call three reputable drywall installers or ask a trusted GC that you work with. Please also remember that most companies will have a minimum amount to charge - they could care less about the SF when it is below X

Re: Semi-taboo Question - Please Help

If you don't have a regular drywall crew it's not going to matter, most prices are given for established crews that know how long things take...for their guys. and Markets will Vary San franscio, New york, Omaha...

Figure out your material price and mark up 10%
Then figure your labor cost, plus...
add these two numbers up
and then add 30%
For me this takes care of my O&P and I find it has been pretty competitive.
