To Prime Or Not To Prime.....
I don't know if this would a quality assurance thing or not but here goes.....
1. Hired to hang drwall and tape ready for primer in bathroom and 10 x 10 storage area. (No Rush) 2. Start job 3. Have to reframe a wall the plumbers built, reframe a section of old wall, add nailing edges all 'round. Drywall......stop.....rewire messed up lighting setup.....continue drywalling 4. New estimate for flooring, toilet and sink install, and another for painting the entire 2000 sqr. ft. basement. ( now they are in a rush ) NOt finished the job yet but HO wants to wait to do the painting in a couple of months. Who knows how long a couple of months is in homeowner speak? Two weeks.....4 months.... Anyhow, Would you at least prime the bathroom area to protect the walls from moisture or just wait until the whole painting project comes about?.....Apparently the nanny will be the only one showering here but.....who knows right.

Re: To Prime Or Not To Prime.....
I've heard the same song and dance from HO before the "want to wait BS". In HO language it means we are trying to save a few bucks and want to finish the stuff we think is easy ourselves. They will not call you back in a few months or even a few centuries, unless they screw up the rest of the project and then try to blame you for it. I would charge them for the work you have done and tell them that if they want it primed it's extra. Make sure they sign off on your work stating that they have accepted the job in it's uncomplete condition and won't hold you responsible. Take your money and move onto the next job.

Shouldn't be a problem if you used paperless sheet rock with a mold resistor. You didn't use that green board did you?

No green board, no cement board, no hardibacker, no paperless sheet rock, no guarantee either...but they have now decided to have me paint, but expect the entire basement done immediately. I had to calm the excitement but long story short......It's on the schedule in the not so far away future. Thanks guys
