A Pool Guy Looking For Some Advise

hey guys, I am looking for a little advise!! I have a contractor ( licensed, insured, good references middle bidder on the project) who is doing an addition on my house. I have a question on a bathroom he is doing - in the bathroom is a shower (at the end the shower will be completely tiled )he has put cement board on the wall of the shower up to 5 1/2 feet I am 6'4" tall should the cement board go all the way to the celling? he has put cement board against the back wall except for the last 10" which is green board shouldn't the whole interior of the shower be cement board? The celling on the shower is regular sheet rock should the celling of the shower be green board? one last question should the seems of the cement board be caulked? I am asking the questions here because I do not want to come off as a nit picking pain in the A$$ HO! I know what water can do and it makes me nervous!!!!
Thanks for any advise!!

if the shower is open on top. no soffit, it is ok to transition to green board, if it is an enclosed shower, with dropped cieling that will be tiled, i usually cement board the whole area. the tile guy should thinset the seams, just before tiling, i hope you understand my answer about the shower soffet.

Sounds like the tile will go to six feet on the walls and paint from there up. if that's the case the walls are fine. Depending where you are the ceiling may have to be regular 1/2" board. In some cities it's against code to use green (MR) on ceilings.

Only in some places it's against code. They feel it's too heavy for ceilings. In other works law makers are bored.
