Has Anyone?

Some one told me a few months back that they took their coating box. And cut a hole in the back and make their own apla-tech. Has anyone hear of this or tryed it?

Re: Has Anyone?

Yes mate. Obviously you will need the Apla-tech cfs box handle, and just drill a hole around 1/2 inch in the box lid, central to the handle. You can still use the box with a normal handle as the hole is covered, isn't it? I got ann engineer friend of mine to make up some shims that screwed to the inside of the box, utilising the little stop screws, which reduced the travel on the box to about an inch, to keep the weight down. This still allowed you to push if you needed to.

Hey Al, I think I came across a couple threads on drywalltalk.com, this sites sister site. I think a guy was saying he had his tapetech boxes rigged like that.

No it isn't, because the airless is that powerful it can handle it ok.

Re: Has Anyone?

Can this be done without a mark iv, or v. Or without the actual big apla tech deal. I have a rtx 1500, and a xr9 paint sprayer, could I rig either one of these somehow?

Your RTX pumps at 100psi. The big airless pumps are pushing out nearly 3000. you need high pressure and through volume to keep the boxes full and push out enough material.
