Green Sheet Rock And Adhesives

does anyone know if nailpower's tub surround adhesive will have any problems if applied to the paper directly or should it be primed before glueing. The tub surround directions say there may be a reaction between the adhesive and the sheetrock. Thus paint first. The adhesive says not recommended for painted surfaces.?? Any info would be helpful

Re: Green Sheet Rock And Adhesives

I'd seal it with a primer. The adhesive manufacturer just wants to eliminate bonding problems with glossy paints.
