Ive been working for other subs for a few years now. Im getting to the point where Im going to start doing some side jobs for myself.

Anybody have any tips for giving estimates for hanging and/or finishing?

I wouldn't mind some advice either. I've been just doing the carpentry, but sometimes its hard to get a drywall guy to do smaller jobs, so I've started on it myself. Don't like the work much, but am getting pretty good at it Just don't know how to bid it on my remodel estimates. I.e. how much per sq ft, or by sheet? Extra for corners, windows, doors etc..? More for ceilings? Shoulda seen the first time I tried that, with my two teenage sons, you guys woulda cracked up - like watching the 3 stooges (but it came out fine, and taught them to stay in school! ) More per sq ft for 5/8 than 1/2?
Thanks............

lets say I had a rehab job where they need three rooms and a hallway hung and finished, how would you go about estimating a job like that if they provided materials.

Phil if you are looking for generic information about how to price your work and be profitable just do a search here, there is tons of info on it. Lots of formulas and methods. If you are talking specifically about pricing drywall, then you will still have to do the search, figure out how to price your work and then apply it to your local market.
