Finding A New Supplier

I am sick and tired of dealing with salesman. Everytime I get comfortable with a new company they start ripping me off. They start out competitive and after a while the prices go higher until I am paying more than I did before I switched.
Is anyone aware of a way I can price out my materials online without dealing with rip-off salesman.
There has to be a easier way!!!

Re: Finding A New Supplier

I was buying from the same supplier forever. One day I got a quote from another local supplier and he beat the heck out of what I was paying. From now on I shop all my jobs.
I while back I found this website called buymymaterials.com. I don't deal with salesman and I can send my quotes out when I get home from work. The next day when I come home my numbers are in my email. I pick the best quote out of the bunch. It's pretty kewl when I am doing work out of my area too.
It's a pretty new site so you may have to get your suppliers to sign up.
Good luck!

The easiest way to keep any supplier honest is to order by P.O. with prices already filled in using the prices you got last time. No large company with any sense buys from vendors by sending them a list of products they want and having the vendor fill them in. No matter if you are large or small you can use the same techniques those businesses do and send your vendor a P.O. It's in writing, the prices are there and if there is a deviation they have to tell you or they are going to eat it.

Question

Re: Finding A New Supplier

I just don't know what these suppliers are thinking. I was talking with one of my old employees about what he was paying for drywall. During the conversation the number comes out and it's less than what I am paying. I have been there for years and this guy is new to the business.
Man that just burns my @ss. Needless to say, I don't buy from them anymore.
I guess to a hammer, everything looks like a nail.
