Fiber Tape On Butts - An Exception

I'll run 'em off the job for even thinking about using Fiberglass tape on Butts.

Never say never tho ... the exception.

What a forked up mess, the original drywall job. 16' of butt joints lined up. 1/8" of mud under the original tape. And the kicker; 1/2" rock hung on long span 2x6 SYP @ 24" O.C.

Solid blocking is gonna help solve the issue, but no way in hell bedding paper in the grand canyon, let alone over the grand canyons inside the grand canyon.

Enjoy the view

Looks yummy. I'd use Fibafuse--I use that on clean butt joints; better than paper.

I don't think twie about using mesh. Getting a good corner can be tricky.
