Drywall In North Carolina

I am a sheetrocker/framer in New Hampshire. My wife and I were thinking of moving to North Carolina in a couple years as the cost of living is a lot less, especially with houses. I was just curious if any of you guys are from North Carolina and could give me some info about our trade in the area. Maybe what kind of salaries to expect being a subcontractor. Thanks for any help.

National Estimator says labor rates in NC are 21% below the national average. It will depend on where you live and what type of work you do.

Re: Drywall In North Carolina

As far as I know North Carolina is one of the cheapest markets in the US. We have people come down to Florida all the time looking for work because they can't make ends meet in the Carolinas. I thought Florida was cheap as far as what we pay but I've heard some horror stories from there. $4 to hang $5 to finish...I pay between 10 to 16 for most walls...
Be careful
