Re: Drywall Gurus

I figure 10-15 on my jobs. There is no set number, especially with corner bead, tear-away, alot of angles, etc.

10 with minimal bead, etc.
15 with lots of bead, angles, etc.

Re: Drywall Gurus

No Problem. I just realized reading it again though that I have my answer reversed.

15 sheets when minimal bead, etc.
10 when I have more.

Small jobs also tend to more mud overall per sheet count.

Re: Drywall Gurus

When estimating new work I figure 10 gallons per 1000 sq ft and usually come up a bit long, thats for regular Level 4. I add 3 - 3.5 gallons for ceiling knock-down.

Re: Drywall Gurus

My book named "Drywall" by Myron M. Ferguson says the following...
1. Premixed drying type compound, 11 Gallons for every 1,ooo sq ft.
2. Hot Mud or "Setting Type" 3 bags for every 1000 sq ft.
3. 1,000 fasteners for 1,000 sq. ft. of drywall.
4. 370 linear ft. of tape for every 1,000 sq. of rock.
I always round up. Good luck jerks. Kev.
