Drywall Finished...oddities?

Not sure how normal some of this stuff is. My drywall sub finished the job and here is what I see.

1. There are cracks developing in some of the side wall inside corners (running vertically where the drywall sides meet). There are also some on the ceiling to side wall inside edges. Is this from too much mud?

2. Corner beads. Is it just the way it goes that when corner beads are installed that the wall will no longer be 90 degrees? The corner bead looks like it should stick out further than the plane of the adjoining walls. So the end result is a wall that is more like 89 degrees when all feathered out. When I use my right angle square on the wall corners, it is definitely less than 90 degrees (or no longer square).

My first time using this guy or really noticing things like this.

As far as the cracks in the corner that will happen especially when you load a corner up with paint. He will probably need to give the cracks a quick brush of paint. Also it sounds like you may have some movement.
How was the heat in the place? Did you give it proper time to cure so you did not get delayed shrinkage? Lot's of variables.
I know of a darn good finisher in Wisconsin.

Trying to put a finish coat over a 2nd coat that hasn't dried enough will cause alot of corners to crack, People just dont understand that you have to let the mud dry before you recoat it because the finish coat will just follow whatever the second coat does while its drying and that is shrinking, cracking etc. having proper heat, insulation and drying time was always my biggest problem related to taping and drywall problems . mud dries from the outside in just because it feels dry doesnt mean that it is. this was one of my most frustrating arguments that ive had with generals, painters, homeowners etc. About the beads being on crooked i'd have to see it first could be the rockers overhung the drywall past the corner and then hung the next sheet over it or the framing was out of wack or the taper was just bad.

Its most likely that your sub was trying to rush the job and didn't allow for proper curing time, which would also include the sloppy job in the corners.

If I had a dollar for every job I've been on that was late before I started and was rushed...
How many jobs have we been on that still had windows not installed, no ductwork, and behind schedule, and the GC needs us to get done to get his next drawl?
Sure, we get the job done then have to go back and fix our "sloppy work" for free.

Brockster it should not be free . If job conditions are not met as per the usg handbook - then any call backs due to being rushed are now extra. This goes for new framing that has just been built and let sit in the rain for weeks or months then insulated and drywalled without putting any heat in there to let the studs twist prior to drywall istallation.

Re: Drywall Finished...oddities?

Heat was ok. It may have been only in the 60's in parts of the house. As long as pant will cover it, I will be ok.

The corners are another matter. I like square. Framing was nearly perfect. Running a level across the face of some of these walls shows bumps and dips. The corners are 88-89 degrees...not 90.
