Compound For Both DAP And Regular Drywall

I'm a carpenter and not a drywaller but I'm doing the drywall on this job. I have DAP installed in the bathroom and regulare 1/2" installed in the rest of the place. I've only got 10 sheets of regular drywall and about 8 sheets of DAP. Is there a single compound that I can use for the joints ( I don't need to do corner joints as they'll be covered up by trim) for both material and potentially skim coating the DAP?

I ordered a Beadex Topping compound but I think it was the wrong product and I don't know how to tell if it's a setting type or not. I also have two new small containers that just say "joint compound" and they're probably a few years old. And I'm using mesh tape.

thanks a bunch.

my research is telling me that the brown bag durabond is unsandable. what do you gents do to get a smooth finish on the first and second coats?

If your going with meshtape, I suggest using any type of durabond on the first coat (ive only had bad experinces with using anything other than durabond on the first coat) and i personally only try to use lightweight +3 joint compound on the finish coat (extremely easy to sand) hope this helps
