Ceiling Grid Pricing HELP

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone out there has the going rate for ceiling grid and tile installation. I usually don't do it but kind of had this project fall into my lap and if I am hearing right I probably shouldn't pass it up. I was quoted $1.75 sq.ft labor only..(KY and S. Ind.),any help is always appreciated. I hope you all are staying busy also now that the weather has finally broke

Re: Ceiling Grid Pricing HELP

I got a bid for some here in Utah about two years ago and it was about $2.50 a foot for labor and materials. I'm sure it has gone up since then.

Re: Ceiling Grid Pricing HELP

Pricing by square foot is horrible unless your just installing cross tees and ACT.

If you are installing the entire ceiling I do not know how anyone can make a living by square foot pricing. I do commercial build outs for a living and have NEVER priced anything by square footage.

You do not know what obstacles you will encounter when you get in there. By the time you set up, lay it out, mark your hangers, lift your mains into place and wire tie them..you've lost more than you priced.

So unless you are just going to be installing the cross tees and ACT..price it different.
