Ceiling Gaps


Just put up some 5/8th inch drywall and there is some crown molding. I got lazy and put up a sheet and left about an inch gap between the top of the molding and the bottom of the drywall. there is no wood to screw a small piece of drywall to. What would be the best solution. I was thinking spray foam it then caulk it. It's a rental and doesn't have to look perfect. Thanks

Mix up some durabond. Make it a little on the thick side...like putty.
Fill in the gap with the durabond.
When dry, scrape flat. Attach Mesh over the length of the area.
Apply a coat of more durabond (fresh batch).
After drying-
Then coat as needed with regular compound.

I second that technique. use some 5 or20 minute.....depending on how much packing you gotta do.
