Re: A Better Place To Work

I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that the construction industry was really getting ready for a big boom (as far as volume, I don't know about wages) in PR since a lot of rural areas are being bought up and developed for tourism.

Where in PR do you work?

Orlando always needs good men. We also have a large P.R. community here. $6.50 Wow! The going rates here in Orlando are for piece work. Not many people hire for hourly. The companies I estimate for pay $12/$12 Hang/Finish, $5.50/12.50 per foot to metal frame, $.60 per square foot for volume acoustics. Hope this helps....

That's not true, not a lot of rural areas developed for tourism. The BIG problem here is the OVERPOPULATION.When 4 million people live in a small island, there's not much to do.I live in the east side of the island, but that's not a problem, because we can go east point to west point in about 3 hours or less.

Keep posting.

I was in the west about a year and a half ago (my gf has family that lives there). And a lot of people were talking about beachfront property that was being bought up and was going to be developed in the near future. We drove around the country side quite a bit and I saw a lot of houses and condos under construction.

Ahh,the beautiful west, but that was a year ago.Ask your gf family about the economic status of the island and i will tell you another story.Living here is HARD because is expensive, dangerous and the overpopulation makes all things worst.I just wanna work and live in a better place to RAISE my family. That's it,so simple.

Her family has recently bought more property there. Good luck finding the simple life , I don't think that urban people (or any people-I shouldn't generalize) even know what that real is (I surely don't).

Metal framer,

I work for several companies here as an estimator. I am currently opening up my own company here as well. Give me your E-mail address and I'll send you a couple of contact names.
