Anyone Use The Stiletto Drywall Hammer?
I am not ready to drop $80 on a hammer after I was disappointed at the performance of the Hart drywall hammer when I love their California Framer so much. Anyone out there have experience with this tool? Worth it?
I have the Hart and the Wall Board brand and they seem comparable. |

When they first came out they had a magnet on the handle end. My short guys could finally set a nail in a top after they knocked one out. They quit making handles with magnets in them, but I found a few (handles only) and bought them up. First ones had a hickory handle also. Did I say I loved that hammer. ![]() Nate |

Re: Anyone Use The Stiletto Drywall Hammer?
Nate,
I drilled ALL my hammer handles and inserted a magnet in the end. It works great for pulling nails from pouches or behind things or off the ground. You can get rare earth magnets very cheaply now and it is a very handy thing. I was more interested in how it swung and drove nails? (I know you are doing the swinging and the driving, but you know what I mean). Depending on the handle design and head geometry, I find different hammers really work better than others, at least for me. My kids like the Stiletto finish hammer the best out of every hammer they have tried as its light weight makes it very easy to control, but still hits pretty hard. They certainly ain't sinking 16's with one lick, but they can't do that with any hammer anyway. I take two licks with the 14, same as with my 20. If I use the 25 and I can do it with one, no problem. I can even do it with the 20 if I concentrate on it and try hard. As I use more nail and screw guns I don't use a hammer as much, so I really appreciate the lighter weight on the pouch/my back, but still want the convenience of a handy hammer. |
