Re: Anyone Prefill Anymore?
If you do not prefill then your mud on your tape does not have anything to adhere too hence bubbling occurs( it will fall between the gaps or may act as prefill depending on size of gaps). If it does not bubble right away then it may bubble down the road. All this means is that you may save some time at first, but if you warrenty then you will be going back ( only again if someone notices which 90% of the time nobody will except another finisher). Or you dont go back and dont care or blame it on something like wood shrinkage and expansion. The odd time excess mud may prefill for you while wiping , but if you rely on that alone that can makes you look less of a professional as others who do prefill.

Re: Anyone Prefill Anymore?
If the job pays as it should, I pre-fill. If not, me tape em. The mud on the backside of the tape will harden & the tape make a patch (If wiped properly). Hasn't anyone on here ever patched a hole with a paper sack b4? Same principal
