54" Drywall Panels?
My buddy said he was on a job that got hundreds of 54" wide drywall sheets delivered. 5/8 8 & 10 ft sheets that are made to eliminate the need for a 12" rip when laying the sheets down on a 9' high walls.
pretty trick, but i couldn't get them in my truck, i'd have to have every job delivered.... anybody seen or work these yet? |

Re: 54" Drywall Panels?
It would not be cost effective for one house. Unless your supplier happend to have some left over from another job. You have to order it by the train car load to make it worth it. Like bidding large projects. Also custom lengths too.

tons of it in their warehouses all of the time. Lowes and Menards stock it. Nothing special about the order, just call it in.

Re: 54" Drywall Panels?
We can get custom width and length with about a week lead time, for quantities of a lift or more. The plant is 35 miles away.

Re: 54" Drywall Panels?
Funny, except for during the shortages around '99, have always gotten 54 in 12, 14 & 16 (1/2") delivered, no problem. All decent suppliers carry in three lengths and even got 54" 12' on a nine-plex last summer but did have to order ahead of time. Typically we pay .05-.07 extra for 54".

Re: 54" Drywall Panels?
Well, guess I was wrong. In my 35yrs of this Iv'e hung odd size board only a few times. And nobody carries it around here in my area that I know of. The suppliers seem to only carry what sells the most. Although back in the 80's we hung alot of 49''on 8'-2'' ceilings on single family homes. They wanted it on the bottom sheets only,
that sucked!
