Is Work Slowing Down For Everyone?

I have been really cranking out the jobs for a long time now and then all of the sudden BAM. It just stopped. I finished up one large job and then I took off about two weeks, not by choice. I started getting a few calls but not not like it was. Usually this time of year is my busiest. Christmas ain't looking too good this year! What about ya'll? Same thing or not? I don't get to work around many other people since I mainly do work for homeowners and I'm not around other jobs. What's up with this anyway?

That happened to us in July. Honestly, I didn't know what to do. I called everybody I know, put an ad in the local paper, even started cold calling builders. All I can say is, there are jobs out there, just not as many. You need to make sure you're the one getting them. Things have been picking up for us, I'm now booked for 1.5 months. Not quite as good as six months though.

Like that here too, it's either feast or famine. Either I get a lot of calls wanting things done before Christmas, big hurry, don't care what it costs, or all the calls are for work to be done but they want things done "right after the new year", not around the holidays.

Never seems to be a happy medium. This year it's slow. Maybe it's because of the worst Michigan economy in decades....

Usually that's our busiest time. Everyone wants the house looking good for the holidays. Merry Christmas by the way.
Spring and Nov-Jan we are always booked solid, this year nothing, I got one job that's paying my bills.

The economy sucks down here in Georgia too.

the number of jobs and calls havent slowed down for me,but the weather has slowed me down.i have layed a brick in two weeks.and to tell the truth,my casino winnings are starting to dwindle.i have 2 small jobs that have to be done this week.one the footing hasnt been poured and the other is under about 6 inches of water.my men got on the roof this morning and shoveled snow off the roof so that it wont melt and run down the crack of my butt tommorow.
