What Are These Worth?
four inch red bricks....
A guy I'm doing some work for wants to get rid of about five hundred of the newer red bricks. He either wants to sel them to me or trade for work. They've been in the dirt for a couple of years but are pretty clean... I just checked the price of new ones where I live and they are 89 cents apiece. (I can maybe use them on my own property, so I wouldn't be making money on them...) Thanks -p |

Re: What Are These Worth?
Probably need to post a picture. Common brick for a wall that have sat around are worth $.10 to $.15 each, less if you have to round them up versus having them stacked on a pallet.
4 X 4 pavers are only $.30 new, I think you should offer to dispose of them for no cost to the owner.

Re: What Are These Worth?
They are worth exactly what you are willing to pay for them.

Re: What Are These Worth?
Well, if you are the seller, they are worth exactly what you are willing to take for them.
<shrug> In reality, 500 ground used old brick are not worth digging up.

They're 2X4X8" and they are in a pile and fairly clean... 20 cents apiece?

Re: What Are These Worth?
A friend of mine once said " its only a good deal if you can use them."
That little tidbit has saved me quite a few times from buying something I really didn't need but was tempted to buy because I knew the price was good.

Re: What Are These Worth?
I hear that, Dakzaag. I will use them for sure. I just want to give the guy a fair exchange, and he has no idea what they're worth either-

Re: What Are These Worth?
Cleaned and stacked on pallets, I pay no more than $170 per thousand for used brick, and only then if they are solids (and they have quantities of 10,000 or more). So a quarter a brick is probably fair to both of you.

Re: What Are These Worth?
Some people collect old bricks. The solid ones that have names stamped in them instead of holes. A former customer of mine(I hate that I lost his phone#) said he pays $5 per brick and would buy as many as he possibly could.
