Wouldn't it be kind of tricky to get the ladder up there in the first place?

Re: What Do You Think Of This Stuff?

I've got a blue thing-a-ma-jig that bolts on the top two rungs of a ladder, pretty much like the picture in the link. Mine has a wheel on the back to roll it up the roof and hook it over. I bought it from a counter display at the supply house maybe 10 years ago, and might have used it twice. Worked great both times. People call that rig a "chicken ladder" for some reason. I don't know if they're calling you a chicken, or if it resembles the plank that chickens walk up to get into the roost in the old style chicken houses.

No trickier than getting 'yourself' up there, - - which you have to do, anyway.

Above thread shows pictures of some "roof saddles" I put together years ago. Your link reminds me of them. Made good use of them on quite a few jobs- especially chimnys on 12/12 metal roofs where the client didn't particularily want any nail holes (I know-picky picky). Actually started using them on most roof set ups unless I was working over decking only where it didn't matter how many cleats I'd nail on.

Those rigs in Brickies link are probably a lot lighter and easier to set up than those I made, and if I were still doing that sort of work, I'd think about a set. Guess I should have gotten a patten 20 yars ago
