Stucco Shoe Molding
Well, we were awarded the stucco repair job that I mentioned in an earlier post. We've decided to coat the exterior with Elastomeric and then wash over that color with two coats of paint to achieve a Tuscan style look.
An unknown tile setter, aka donkey, set the exterior slate right against the stucco, burying the weep screed and covering it with sanded grout. We've ginded the grout out of the areas which adjoin the house and will replace it with Ardex Flex to match the existing color grout. That's really not that big a deal. The HO however, was given some info about a shoe molding that goes againt the base of the house on the tile. This molding apparently acts as an additional barrier to direct water away from the house. I don't know of this type of shoemolding (for lack of better term), but I would think it was made of a hard material, not foam, to resist damage when kicked. Has anyone used such a product? |
