Stucco Repair?
Okay this is probably one of those stupid questions BUT here it goes anyhow:
I have two 10"*1.5" deep stucco areas to patch where a railing frame was attatched to an exterior wall, since this is not my area of expertise or anything, just wanted to get some info how do you get that design, techniques, tools, and product info, thanks. I was thinking using wire mesh and a product from HD, and a trowel and dipping into the stucco trying to create this design, any tips to do it the right way and how I am planning on doing it wrong would be appreciated . Here are pics: ![]()

Re: Stucco Repair?
Okay thanks, but how do you get that stucco pattern? Any certain tool or just a trowel?
Never mind I did a new search here and found what I was looking for, my original search was not worded correctly, I guess

This was the info I was specifically looking : "for It is either gunned on or a pull finish where you take a trowl put some mud on it and pull straight back will leave big pointy texture That kind of hangs." Also found on the other board this useful info by Bill Robinson http://forums.jlconline.com/forums/s...atching+stucco But the best info I just found with a google of "scratch coats", (too bad I already put on the first coat) with mixes and such, is from this site: http://www.cement.org/Stucco/faq_coats.asp Hope this helps I will try to post pics when I am finished. Some other good info also: http://www.askthebuilder.com/423_Patching_Stucco.shtml http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/articl...OGDUBJEDT1.DTL

Nice match. I was going to say "practice in a piece of plywood" but looks like you got it down.

Re: Stucco Repair?
QUIKRETE QUIKWALL Surface Bonding Cement in two coats, (tar paper than wire mesh) they also have other stucco products or I believe you can make your own by following the ratios on this site http://www.cement.org/Stucco/faq_coats.asp
